What People Are Saying About FGA Programs...

"My name is Pat Mayer and I have a special needs  PE class at Oak Lawn Community HS. Freedom Golf was at our school last week and did such a wonderful job teaching the students that I wanted to write you and let you know how much the kids appreciated the opportunity. The teachers were so energetic and fun. We will definitely have them out again next year. What a opportunity for these kids, this might be their only exposure to golf and it was such a positive one. I hope that they are now going to go out and golf with their new golf knowledge. Thanks again, Pat."
Pat Mayer, PE Teacher, Oak Lawn Community High School

"I would like to thank your company and their philosophy on adapting sports (Golf) for kids who have unique needs and learning differently. Over the last few months, I have seen my student's make progress with gross motor, fine motor, and following the rules related to golf. The population of my classroom requires instruction at their level, requiring great patience and repetition. Your staff and team has not only supported my students in tackling these hard obstacles, but they have also supported my staff and encouraged them to help our students to learn the basics for golf.  Thank you again for all your great efforts and commitment to helping increase instruction during APE and making something otherwise impossible... easy, enriching, and enjoyable for all of us! Thank you again"
Gina Abrams, CD Program, Southwest Cook County Cooperative Association for Special Education (SWCCCASE)

"FGA has provided our students with an opportunity of having a lifetime activity... You can not ask for anything more."

“We are thrilled, thanks to the assistance of Freedom Golf Association, to be able to offer our children and their families access to adaptive golf. The FGA volunteer coaches created a warm, welcoming, and fun environment, even for kids who weren’t sure golf was something they wanted to try. By the end of the four-week session, each and every one of the fourteen participants left with a huge smile, asking when they could come back.”

                                                                                             - T. Forthofer, President, Easter Seals of DuPage and Fox Valley
“Students made a great deal of progress throughout the four weeks of adapted golf instruction [this May]...many students had never played before or even knew what it was. I personally recognized growth in students’ confidence and attitude as they developed more skills throughout the program. Students looked forward to golf instruction each week…”
                                                                                                                                                         -T. Beemsterboer, Simmons Middle School
“Our agency is so appreciative of the level of professionalism and individualized attention that our residents received with all varying levels of abilities.  One participant had an excellent drive with the assistance and coaching of the instructors, something that made his day! The work the instructors do is nothing short of amazing. They are all patient, understanding, and show a genuine interest for the residents to learn the sport and improve on skill. The adaptive equipment has impacted the learning in multiple ways. The Velcro golf, for example, really helped a participant learn to swing in a better fashion, so much so that after no time at all he was hitting the ball right on the target with ease…Golf is now a regular topic of conversation in the home and they are all eager to get back on the course.”

“My husband has lived a very active life  --  filled with hiking vacations, recreational hockey and golf. Giving him the opportunity to see that he can rekindle his love of golf is an amazing gift for which I am grateful beyond words. Your coaches are amazing. On behalf of my family, thank you. We look forward to getting him more active and involved in this amazing organization in the months ahead.”
                                                                                                                                                                                  -J. Somogyi

"Thank you so much for the wonderful opportunity to have this clinic and especially for your kind words regarding our youth.  We think they are very special people, but it’s nice to hear from others from their perspective.  From all youth accounts upon their return, without question the clinic was a huge success and everyone really enjoyed themselves.  You really instilled a love for the game and several returned saying they wanted to participate in the First Tee lessons, currently provided to some of our summer youth."
-C. Price, Boys and Girls Club of Lake County
Since July 2012, Freedom Golf Association has provided over 3,500 lessons to disabled and special needs golfers – children, adults and disabled veterans facing special challenges who are learning or re-learning the basics in our clinics and Get Out and Play events.

Thank you for helping grow our programs in the Chicagoland community!
