On September 12th, FGA hosted 50-60 Vets to attend the BMW Champion Tournament at Conway Farms in Lake Forest. The Vets were treated to a demonstration by a PGA Tournament Pro, grounds viewing, transportation, lunch, and a meet and greet with the best Pro Golfers in the nation. Many of our Vets that attended were helped by our free adaptive golf events and some have even become adaptive golf coaches.
The BMW Championship is the penultimate event in the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Playoffs, with the top 70 PGA TOUR players competing for an $8.5 million purse, including $1.53 million for the winner. Former champions include Dustin Johnson, Jason Day, Rory McIlroy, Zach Johnson, Justin Rose and Tiger Woods.
All proceeds from the BMW Championship benefit the Evans Scholars Foundation, which awards full tuition and housing college scholarships to deserving caddies from modest means. Since 2007, the event has contributed more than $24.4 million to the Evans Scholars Foundation.
